Sandy Gilbert

I popped into SALCOMBE ART CLUB during a winter drawing class some years ago (maybe 8`ish) to see what went on. I hadn’t touched a pencil or a brush since the age of 16. I signed up and got going. Under the kind guidance of Jenny Johnson, I never looked back. I gained confidence and worked bigger and better trying out many different disciplines and materials. I love experimenting with new methods. Every course I have been on I have been made most welcome. I have worked in collage, pastel, inks, acrylics and even had a go at a woodcut. My style of work is very varied indeed. The two Tutors who have been the greatest influence upon me (apart from Jenny who is sadly now deceased) have been Sally Fisher and Steve Kenna. As time goes on I grow more and more enthusiastic to produce more work more often. I am pleased to live in SOUTH HAMS with its wealth of inspiration and subjects.
