Salcome Art Club
Salcombe Art Club is based in our very own former sail loft Studio and provides its members with a large variety of tutored courses in all media together with an annual exhibition for members to display and sell their work.
We have a diverse membership of both experienced artists and beginners and from time to time we have social events and visiting lecturers.
About the Club
Salcombe Art Club, was established in 1960 by a small group of enthusiastic amateur artists and has now grown to a vibrant Club of 170 members.
All our activities are housed in our own lovely Loft Studio based right in the centre of Salcombe close to the waterfront. We proudly acquired the Loft in 1993 and over time we have refurbished this former sail loft which now provides us with a warm, well lit, functional Studio home that houses our activities.
We run Courses every weekday from October to April that cover Painting in all media, styles and subject matter, Printmaking, and Drawing, all of which are run by local Tutors, visiting artists and members. We welcome members of all abilities to join us and help us maintain the enjoyment our Club gives us all.
In the summer months, late May to September, we transform the Loft Studio into our Annual Exhibition with an eclectic range of work from about 45 Full members. This is open to the public with free admission and we have hundreds of visitors coming to view and buy!
