Ann Merritt

I love the beautiful scenery of Devon and especially the Salcombe/Kingsbridge estuary where I have lived since retirement from Surrey. I enjoy painting scenes of local beaches and also the lovely areas of Dartmoor. Many of my paintings are views from the sea because I have spent so much time on board a boat, sketching from the cockpit or painting whilst at anchor. I keep a watch for wild life and enjoy drawing sea birds, puffins and gannets being my favourites. As a grandmother, I like watching and sketching the children playing on the beach and their activities in the water.  Most of my pictures are painted in acrylic, oils or watercolour.
