Amanda Harvey

After a long career in law, I finally made the leap to follow my heart and now practice full-time as a ceramic and mixed media artist based in Devon. I create with a passion for the ocean inspired by coastal living and volunteering at the UK’s first National Marine Park, Plymouth Sound.

The shoals of framed mixed media collage fish submitted for the Salcombe Art Club Summer Exhibition 2024 are created with dazzling papers and textiles from my extensive collection. Ceramic wall vases are made using white crank stoneware and my own glazes in shades of blues and greens inspired by my favourite local swimming spots.

In The Good Blue News Art Project, I share some of the many ‘good ocean news’ stories now emerging from brilliant work being done in marine conservation by Blue Marine Foundation and at the National Marine Park, UK and at marine reserves across the world.

My work is shown at several galleries in Devon and I am a member of Westcountry Potters’ Association, Devon Artist Network, South Hams Arts Forum, Totnes Potters and Crafts Council Directory.
