Liese is an artist based in Exeter where she lives and works from her garden studio. After graduating in Fine Art in Exeter in 2000 Liese continued to paint whilst working in education, completing her PGCE in Art Teaching in 2003. Liese then lived and worked between Cyprus and Exeter teaching and painting.
Her time in Cyprus with the intense vibrancy of the Mediterranean light ignited her love of colour. This and inspiration from nature are the key themes in her work. Liese’s paintings aim to capture a snapshot of a place, a memory, an emotional response. Familiar places reappear as motifs carried through her work. Bold colour creates a world of escapism celebrating beauty and the pure awe of nature.
Liese is currently exhibiting her paintings in galleries in Devon.
