Maggie is a painter, printmaker and workshop teacher who is constantly inspired by the sea, surrounding natural landscape, nature and her garden, including the vegetable plot!
Having trained as a primary school teacher many years ago, she specialised in Ceramics at college and also taught educational dance in schools around Oxfordshire, before moving to the South Hams and settling just outside Kingsbridge.
Working in a variety of mediums, ranging from large mixed media pieces to small intricate printmaking, Maggie produces work from an emotional response to things, a scene, or a moment in time, which captures her imagination and fires up
her creativity.
Most of her printmaking starts with an idea, a sketch and the process of making a printing ‘plate’. The plate is inked up and then run through her etching press onto special printmaking paper making a handmade print.
She uses a variety of techniques including drypoint, etching, collagraph, monoprinting and linocut.
Maggie exhibits in local galleries and shops.
Visits to the studio are welcome by appointment.
