John Ashton

I have been passionate about wildlife all my life, and birds in particular. After a diverse career, including being a roadie for major rock bands, I settled in Aveton Gifford on the Avon Estuary in Devon. Not only am I a wildlife artist working mainly in oils, I also paint murals, illustrate books and I write on the subject of ornithology. I mainly exhibit in Devon but I also have been a regular finalist in the ‘David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year’ award in the Mall Galleries.
