Known for bright light and shadows in her paintings, Diana Miller paints in watercolour and oils.
Diana lives and paints on a farm in South Devon run by her family. It is a source of much inspiration; her studio is in the farmhouse, with a cheerful garden immediately beyond the (frequently painted) French windows. She is intrigued by flowers, interiors, landscapes, and the effects of light upon them.
Artists of the early 20th century such as the Scottish Colourists, the Bloomsbury Group and Anne Redpath are amongst her favourites.
She holds an MA in Landscape Archiecture from Sheffield University and a BSc Horticulture from London University. She has been painting professionally and teaching adults since 1990.
Her work has been selected and exhibited by the Royal Institute for Painters in Watercolour (Mall Galleries) and the Royal Watercolour Society (Bankside Gallery). She has been published in the Artist Magazine where she won the Millennium Still Life Competition, the International Artist, and has held several solo exhibitions in Oxford and Devon.
Diana has been an active member of Salcombe Art Club for more than 25 years.
