Deb Rickard

I am a full member of the Salcombe Art Club and the South Hams Art Forum (SHAF). I have been painting in oil, watercolour and acrylic for many years whilst also spending some years studying ceramics. Since moving to Devon’s South Hams however, I’ve been concentrating on painting, mainly in oil and acrylic. I like to explore ways of depicting light on water, which can be so dramatic, both here on the coast and on inland waterways.

I also enjoy painting the fjords and glaciers of Norway where I have family. In these paintings I tend to use a rather abstract style with a limited palette to capture the cool light.

In all my paintings I like to evoke some kind of feeling or emotion, often drawing on the uplift that for me, the sight of sunlight on water engenders. I hope you enjoy my paintings and perhaps also experience some kind of reflective thought or uplift.
