I have made prints. Sometimes I paint. . .

The transition from printmaking to painting, informed by printmaking, has been a natural progression. I’ve traded the meditative quality of carving woodcuts for that found in applying and removing numerous layers of paint.

Oil paint is magical. Sometimes charcoal is involved. Wax plays a role.

I see each painting as a puzzle to be solved as it progresses. Some are trickier than others.

I look for moments of stillness and quiet.
