Salcombe Art Club – Talk on Stanley Spencer

David Kirk, who gave a brilliant talk on Piero della Francesco in April, has agreed to come and entertain us again with his deep knowledge of Sir Stanley Spencer  (1891-1959)

This will be on Saturday 28^th March 2026 from 12 noonIn the Studio, Wine and bits from 12 noon and talk at 1.00pm

As before this will be free for members and a small charge of £5 for non members who will be very welcome. 

Stanley Spencer was a major figure in 20th Century British art. He was known for his multi-figure compositions. Based in Cookham Berkshire, his art combined intense realism with a unique spiritual outlook and occasional eccentricity!

David Kirk says he has been influenced by him in his own art so we look forward to his compelling insight of the artist.
