Printmaking Possibilities: Collagraph 2: It’s not just about the plate – Inky Ideas (Weekend Workshop)
15 November at 9:45 am - 16 November at 4:15 pm
£80.00
Tutor: Nigel Grist
Cost: £80
Saturday and Sunday 9.45am to 4.15pm
Most printmaking techniques involve a plate of some type and ink, typically applied with a roller or brush. There are many other possibilities however, including sprays, cloths and offsetting from other surfaces. The ink itself can be modified to influence the interaction between colours. Masking or stencils can control the areas to which ink is applied and partial wiping or lifting of ink allows for multiple colours in an image. Various techniques will be introduced and a number of collagraph plates will be developed and printed to explore the possibilities of plate making and inking.
