Degas loved working with pastels, both oil and soft. He was a great innovator of the medium and included it in mixed media work. His most well known pastel pieces are of ballet dancers, racehorses and women washing or bathing but he did produce a number of landscapes and it will be these images that will be the starting point of this workshop.
You will explore Degas’ technique and adapt it in your own landscape paintings/drawings; you may even devise a technique of your own.
It will be a weekend of experimentation, a modicum of fun and, hopefully some worthwhile and satisfying results of which you will be proud.
