Introduction to Oil Pastels (Workshop)

Oil pastels are the perfect medium for creating colourful as well as atmospheric tonal work. This versatile medium is wonderful for building up layers of colour (working from dark to light) overlaying colours to make subtle and beautiful hues. It is excellent tool for learning about colour mixing whether creating vibrant abstracts or still life paintings. It also works well transforming failed watercolour or acrylic paintings!

I will demonstrate the various ways this less known medium can be used on its own as well as with turps and pencil.
