Travelling Sketchbooks (Thursdays for Four Weeks)

Weather permitting we will endeavour to go out and sketch en plein air, choosing dynamic and interesting compositions, looking at light and tone and focal points.
Sally will do a quick demo in the morning, in the studio, before we go out to suggest different ways of sketching using pen, ink, pencil, pastel and watercolour. Emphasis will be on finding a good composition and mark making.
Back in the studio we can develop our sketches into larger works using mixed media and discuss how to go forward.
Maybe try out coloured pencils, watercolour, and pastel (oil or soft).
