Scolarship Award 2025-26
On Wednesday 11th of June Tony Wood, Ian Carr and Ann Chester King had an inspiring morning at Kingsbridge Community College interviewing 6 A-level Art students who had applied for our annual Scholarship.
The standard of applicants and their work was very high which made making a choice extremely hard. After much debate we short listed 3 and ultimately chose Layla Mamood.
Layla will be going to Plymouth in September for their Foundation course. She is talented, driven, and totally committed to her future as an artist and will no doubt continue to be a great explorer of ideas and medium. We asked her to supply a picture of herself for this post as above but she also gave a digital version (another medium she is currently playing with!)
We are delighted that Layla has joined the Salcombe Art Club family and look forward to seeing some of her work in next years exhibition.
