SUMMARY:Printmaking Possibilities: Collagraphy & More (Weekend Workshop)
DESCRIPTION:Collagraphy is a term for a very broad range of printmaking techniques. It’s particularly suitable for more abstract or patterned images and can be used well in combination with other techniques. This course will look at a range of methods of creating an image by modifying the surface of a printing plate. Some may be familiar some less so. We’ll also look at various inking options to increase the possibilities. A variety of printing papers will be available to add another variable to the mix. SUMMARY:Travelling Sketchbooks (Thursdays for Four Weeks)
DESCRIPTION:Weather permitting we will endeavour to go out and sketch en plein air\, choosing dynamic and interesting compositions\, looking at light and tone and focal points. \nSally will do a quick demo in the morning\, in the studio\, before we go out to suggest different ways of sketching using pen\, ink\, pencil\, pastel and watercolour. Emphasis will be on finding a good composition and mark making. \nBack in the studio we can develop our sketches into larger works using mixed media and discuss how to go forward.\nMaybe try out coloured pencils\, watercolour\, and pastel (oil or soft). \n \n
