DESCRIPTION:David Kirk\, who gave a brilliant talk on Piero della Francesco in April\, has agreed to come and entertain us again with his deep knowledge of Sir Stanley Spencer  (1891-1959) \nThis will be on Saturday 28th March 2026 from 12 noonIn the Studio\, Wine and bits from 12 noon and talk at 1.00pm \nAs before this will be free for members and a small charge of £5 for non members who will be very welcome.  \nStanley Spencer was a major figure in 20th Century British art. He was known for his multi-figure compositions. Based in Cookham Berkshire\, his art combined intense realism with a unique spiritual outlook and occasional eccentricity! \n\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				 Swan Upping at Cookham\n				\n			\n				\n			\n				\n				David Kirk\n				\n		\n\nDavid Kirk says he has been influenced by him in his own art so we look forward to his compelling insight of the artist.
